Prior to adopting this Concern, we held a YF(GMFree) weekend in summer 2014, attended by sixteen Young Friends, with a theme of mental wellbeing, to gauge enthusiasm for the issue: enthusiasm was alive and well, and since YFGM whole-heartedly adopted this as a corporate Concern in October 2014, a working group has been established to take the ideas and passion forwards. In October 2015 we were inspired by the practice of York Retreat. We have arranged to co-host a weekend course with Woodbrooke in 2016 around the subject of mental wellbeing. Watch this space for more to come!
Mental Wellbeing is a current Concern for the whole of yfgm and many members (and other Quakers) have assisted and supported activities so far. The working group is – Jenny Baines, Ellen Elliott, Rachel Evans, Abigail Rowse, Laurence Hall (temp) and Rhian Blades.
