Be co-opted to a committee!

YFGM needs YOU… to volunteer to be on a committee during February YFGM!

Co-option is where a committee asks people to serve for one event only. This often happens when we know a committee member is unavailable for that event, or if there is a vacancy on the committee. Being co-opted is a great way of helping the YFGM community, and a good way to get involved if you don’t want to commit to a role for two or three years. It’s also a great way to get a taste of what a role is like, so if you’ve wondered about a role then being co-opted might help you decide whether you love it and might want to take it on for a full term, or stay away from it forever.

Committees we need to co-opt people to this YFGM are Nominations, Logistics, and Elders.

Please note that co-option is not automatic – there is a process somewhat like normal nominations (but much less involved and much less formal) to ensure that people fit with the gap that needs filling and to sort things out if more people volunteer than are needed at this event.
